The 5-Step ProcessMany people who haven't been involved in the creation of a Web site before find it difficult to know where to begin. Here at ShoeString Design, we try to walk you through the simple 5-step process of creating your Web site so there aren't any unpleasant surprises for you.
Step 1 The Initial ConsultationWe meet to sit down and discuss the types of things you would like to see your Web site accomplish for you. For example, are you hoping it will bring in clients or is it an information source for existing clients? Do you plan to sell products or services from the site? These types of questions can help us determine what your goals are and how we can best meet them.
Step 2 Research & PreparationWe spend a week or two researching what similar types of businesses are doing with their Web presences, and we figure out how to make your site something special among its peers. In the meantime, you will be gathering marketing and information materials, logo designs and other graphics, etc. for us to use when we begin work on your site.
Step 3 First Draft DesignWe present you with two to three suggested site designs using the materials you have given us, the research we've done, and our earlier discussions. You can then select which you like best or identify the positive and negative from each of the designs, so that we can continue to the next step.
Step 4 Second Draft DesignThis is definitely one of the most important steps. We will take your feedback from step 3 back to the drawing board and continue refining your chosen design. When completed, we will present you with our finished design for your approval. This is your last chance during this process to make significant changes to the design.
Step 5 Final Design & Site CreationAt this point, we have all the information you've gathered for us, we know what your goals are for the site, and we have a design that works. It's time to put it all together. We create the site as completely as possible and post it online in a password-protected area. You can go over the nearly-finished product here and determine any last minute fixes or changes that need to be made.
Voíla! A Completed Web SiteOnce your final approval has been obtained, we will post the site, test it for accuracy and functionality, then it is ready to go. You have a Web site up and running! |
